Taro Empanadas

Servings: 30 

Ingredients

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 250ml water
  • 15g salt
  • 125g butter
  • 400g wheat flour
  • 100g taro (malanga) flour
  • 250ml oil (for frying)
  • 150g cheese
  • 30g white onion

Instructions

  • Make a well with the flours in the center, then add the beef fat, salt, egg yolk, and water
  • Gradually incorporate the ingredients until a dough form
  • Wrap in plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for 2 hours
  • Crumble the cheese and chop the onion. Mix them together
  • Roll out the dough, fill it, and fry
